Michael Gustorff was born in Leverkusen (Germany) in 1958. He studied classical music at the Musikhochschule Duisburg (Germany) and jazz at the conservatories in Amsterdam and Arnhem (The Netherlands)

since 2005: New band "Trio Nuevo", with Dick de Graaf, saxophon and Hans Sparla, accordeon and Sandra Coelers vocals.
2007: Guest soloist with the Radio Big Band Frankfurt (Hessischer Rundfunk) at the 'Deutsches Jazzfestival 2007', playing 'Seven Shades' by Ted Nash
